Doug Murphy is a Consultant with Spinnaker Consulting Group and focusing on Customer Channels & Operations Management process risk mitigation and issue remediation. An experienced and proven business professional for 15 years with Capital One Financial Corporation a Top 10 Bank by Assets, and 6 years consulting in the Financial Services and Health Care industries; Doug is adept at solving the biggest and most complex challenges across operations and corporate groups of large organizations. He facilitates and creates implementation strategies that are transferable and sustainable providing long-term value to his clients.

Currently, Doug leverages his experiences to consult with clients to innovate their business or solve their highest priority issues. He has a diverse set of skills spanning analytics, team leadership, technology, regulatory compliance, program management, and process management. Utilizing his military background, Doug also serves as Spinnaker Consulting Group’s liaison to the National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA) to best employ the firm’s certification as a Veteran Business Enterprise (VBE).

Doug’s experience and skill set have been leveraged not only at Capital One but also consulting for multiple Fortune 200 Companies. His most recent client engagements included technology implementation of a new collections servicing suite, bankruptcy department lead for first line compliance issue resolution, and testing requirements coverage expert for second line compliance with various banking regulations across all products.

Doug is a graduate of both the United States Naval Academy and Naval Postgraduate School. He served our country as a submarine officer for 12 years before entering the corporate world where he continued his service in the Navy Reserves until retiring in 2008. He resides in Richmond, Virginia with his wife Helen and his sons Sean and Aiden. When he is not supporting his clients, Doug and his family enjoy traveling just about anywhere.
