Cassandra brings over 20 plus years of banking industry experience to Spinnaker’s clients. Throughout her career, she developed a deep understanding of compliance regulations and best practices. She has successfully implemented compliance programs, monitored the compliance management system, and provided comprehensive training to employees. Cassandra performed risk assessments to understand risk level, significance and scope. kept up to date with, and understanding of relevant laws and regulations. She monitored compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies. Her goal is to ensure that each organization remains compliant with all regulations and policies as required based on the local and federal requirements.

Prior to joining Spinnaker, Cassandra served as a Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Risk Officer, Director of Business Risks and Controls, Auditor, and as a Regulator.   Cassandra has 20 plus years of internal and external audits, governances, and examinations with 10 plus years of experience as a Regulator at Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) performing work at various financial institutions, credit unions, credit reporting agencies, and mortgage lenders. Her experiences include conducting examinations and audits on consumer credit cards, retail lending, third party, auto lending, security risk, student lending, credit reporting, deposits, mortgage servicing, and mortgage origination. She interfaced and built relationships with corporate, business leaders, Legal, Audit, and Regulators on risk related topics. She focused on several key risk factors such as Strategic, Reputation, Cyber and Information Technology, BSA/AML, Conduct, Operational, Transaction, Credit, Third Party, and Compliance. 

During her tenure at the FDIC, Cassandra received a Star Award for her hard work documenting and performing timely closeout of claims that were not cost effective for the Receiverships.

Cassandra attended the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) and later Strayer University majoring in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentration in Management.  She lives in Virginia with her husband, twins, son and daughter.  When she isn’t partnering with clients, she enjoys attending her twin’s basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, and traveling with family and friends.
